Year 7 Humanities Melbourne Museum Excursion

What techniques do historians employ? What are their sources of evidence? How do we know what life was like in the past? These were some of the questions Year 7 Humanities students were able to answer during their excursion to the Melbourne Museum. Students had the chance to focus on The Melbourne Story in the late 1800s. It allowed students to consider what we can learn from the rubbish that is left behind. Students learnt more about archaeological practice by working with objects from the 1880s in a facilitated program.

Many thanks to teachers who helped us on the day.

Warm Regards,
